CYBER TELEVISION STUDIO IN A SUITCASETM
Sunpak
Current Version AP-200W
This is one of the few companies that refuses
to publish an 800 number even for those of you who wish to know who their
local authorized reseller is. Who knows, maybe writing this someone who
counts may see the light or error of his ways! Here we have a pan and tilt
device that will become a very important item in our suitcase which will
allow us to operate efficiently two, three or more video cameras on location.
This is also one of those items we call a necessory that permits us the
luxury of running this whole operation by our selves and not be bothered
with assistants or helpers. The AP-200W
is still on the market, but unfortunately Sunpak has sought fit to eliminate
a very important and unreplaceable 1000T that would pan along with the
speaker as they would pace back and forth on stage. It did this by following
the speakers microphone he wore or carried! They are getting harder to
find and I have never at trade shows, got a real good explanation as to
why Sunpak would discontinue a product in which they had a monopoly on.
Maybe here again someone that counts, could try and bring back this irreplaceable
1000T or at least an improve version of it. We'll just have to wait and
see.
The AP-200W Auto Pan/Tilt Head responds to infrared remote control signals from thirty feet away (left, right, up, down), or it can be preset for continuous panning. Powered by Sony, Panasonic, or JVC type 6 volt camcorder batteries. The remote control can also activate lens zooming and record/pause funtions with the latest version Sony, JVC, Canon and Hitachi 8mm and VHS-C compact camcorders (and equivalent models). The optional RS-200 Remote Cord , further extends the AP-200W’s range to more than 50 feet.
