Heads Up;  Please take your time,  I know supplies are short,  again, but I am

set of cables was not enough  and the re-orders are depleting inventories as
fast as they come in.  This is a 3 piece set the
Millennium FireWire Cable

December Surprise
Sony Relents
DCR-PC110 Finally Arrives in USA!

Quietly released 1 December 2000
PC110 and 128 MB Memory Stick
e-mail me for first dealers

Sony received many thousands of complaints
about us being last in the world on this cam!

Memory Stick will have 256 MB in another few
months followed by the 500MB &
1GB in a year

Canon was whispering
XL-2 in 2001 @ COMDEX
has XLR sockets & Flash Memory & 2 new lenses
Saw a proto type
3 hour mini DV Tape.... hmmm!
PC110 is Holiday's biggest & best seller...
Pana Digicam Leica Lens Voted
Best 3 chipper...
there was no recount by the Tokyo Video editors!

Sony GT Hybrid Laptop is Smallest Portable Video
Editing computer.
First Owners Report follows :

Meisterman, got my
Sony GT from your Dynamism today
and... WOW!  I have hooked it up to my favorite wireless
keyboard and wireless mouse and am borrowing my
wife's Circuit City TFT 15" screen.  Boy is this
GT tiny!

It is about the same form factor as my friends Sony
Picture Book (6" by 9" by 1.5" thick or I should say...
thin).  The screen is small like you said at about
5" wide by almost 4" high.  The buttons are small
but are easier to use and the Back space and Delete
keys are not as prone to miss hits like the Picture Book.

The built in camera is a dream and with a tripod mount
on the bottom of the GT, the zoom control and manual
focus ring work smoothly. The software for video editing
is all there and is so simple to learn and use... I wonder
why I took so long to get into computer Video Editing.
Thanks a Million for a Wonderful Christmas 2000 gift...

Finally!
MOVE OVER SONY - HERE COMES PANASONIC
TO CHALLENGE THE UNRELEASED
TRV1000!!
Pana NEW Mini 3 CCD is on its way...
12X Optical, LEICA Lens & Get This: 1.8 MEGA Pixel!

Hit Mr.  Marco Zamponi Link above
& see the Very New Pana Mega Pixel
3CCD Optical Steady Shot wonder out
side of its Clear All Weather Housing.

I have been asked what happen... why didn't we
get the PC110 like everyone else in the world at
this time?  I believe we may have found out by
way of a competitor and it also may explain where
the TRV1000, PC3000, the Canon GL-2 and even
the XL-2 all went.  Pana has done three things and
when taken together may have far reaching implications
ie...  falling DV camcorder prices (Hoo-Ray) and
bring about significant improvement in competition
for Sony... Finally.
Look, Pana quietly added DV input/output sockets &
then Analog input/output sockets right on board the
camcorder. Now they have developed an improved
second generation Lens stabilization system also
based on Optics. With the first Leica Lens coming on
the Digicam (EZ50u/DX200) my Lens Wars prediction
April of 1998 has come true!
That puts Zeiss in the Sony camp, Flourite in Canon's and
maybe Fujinon with JVC.  The TRV900 replacement:
DCR-TRV1000 was rumored to be the First Multisystem
camcorder able play, record & edit in Both PAL & NTSC!
This new 1CCD MegaPixel 2001 Pana that I will call for now
the
DV-X may take dead aim at a $999 market that even the
DCR-TRV20 may have to relinquish. Don't you just love it?
More Later....

I just saw the next step in Mega Pixels...think 3.3 million is high?
Sanyo, Panasonic and even Fuji have a Super CCD rated at........
4.3 Million Pixels! That translates into 2400 X 1800 for you bean
counters out there. Now, just like the 3.3 chip... Do
NOT expect
to see this chip anytime soon on a DV camcorder; D/Cameras Only!

This is a Millennium FireWire Hub!
Wt. and Size is about a pack of cigarettes.
5 Firewire Inputs and 1 Output...        OR
One FireWire Input and 5 Outputs...  OR
connect any 2 FireWire Cables & make
1 Big Ole Very Long Running FireWire...

Mini DV & DVCam Play AND Record
Standard DV and mini DV size cassettes
2 hour mini DV  & 4.5 hr Standard DV
6 Pin Powered Firewire & Color Screen

SONY has FINALLY reduced the PC100 to a
$1399 price point... meaning they are clearing
all remaining inventory for some reason!

You will see FEW surprises at Videomaker...
achem... Few!

WEVA is a Pro Format venue, so do not ask me
any more about where's the TRV1000 & PC3000.

In addition to those two, who knows, we might get
Lucky with the Pana EZ50u/DX200 3CCD. Hmm!
Looks like Photo-kina will have PC5,
PC110 & other
goodies for the PAL holidays... even if WE don't.

The 4mm Fisheye for mini DV and the All Weather
Housings for the SONY line are at this
e-mail

Yes,
I'll bring the new 164 Foot FireWire Cable to All the shows!

Uh...there happens to be a guy here at WEVA that is selling
Li-ion Sony type batteries for camcorders.     He's got the....
NP-F950 7.2v 4650mAh @ $71,    NP-FM90 3600mAh @

Anyone Interested?
e-mail me.

 JULY!

Sony's new DCR-PC110 replacement for the popular
PC100 will launch in Japan September 9th and could
make it to our shores months later!   Price will be less
& Lux will be slightly better, it's back to non standard
battery and Zeiss lens size (37mm).  First user's report:
Immamura here chuckmeister, I like our company's new
PC110 better than PC5.    Better image, better than my
old TRV900 in fact!     Same size as a pack of cigarettes
& slightly shorter than current PC100.      Excellent
lens /stabilization system. Great for EXTREME sports
like sky diving, off road and helmet cams.  Very compact
for Laptop Road Warriors and can act as mini DV-VCR!

PC110
& other DVCams to use the new Memory Sticks
128MB
and the 256MB, which will debut this fall.  So,
just Hang in there a little bit longer for the
500MB &
 1GB
version.  The 3CCD version PC3000 is MIA
!

I 'm  at the Republican Convention till August 5th!

My next public appearance will be WEVA convention
Bally's Vegas August 15-16-17th @ Elite Video Booth.
Then September 14-15-16th Videomaker NJ Hilton @
DVLaptop Booth with 21hr Batt, Video Editing Laptop.
new 4mm Fisheye for mini DV camcorders & DVD-RW
And of course my 6 lb. Uplink/Downlink Satellite Dish!

I was asked by many of you to check PCExpo out
for rumors or at least some opinions of what I have
said here.     OK.  The new TRV20 will be replaced
by the DCR-TRV30, what you do not know is that
I am right on that this unit will load from the... SIDE!
That's right, TRV20 is bottom loading BUMMER land!
Again!
Yup, and it goes like this: TRV7 bottom, replaced by
TRV10 side, replaced by TRV20 bottom replaced by
TRV30... Side! Surprised?  Didn't think so.   So why
does Sony Do This to you... built in Obsolescence.

The new PC100 replacement DCR-PC110 will be...
"As Small" as the PC100 and even PC1!   Talk about
using a shoe horn! Yes, it will also have Lower Lux!
More info on this PC110 after July 1st... promise...

We are still waiting for the Japan announcement that
a DCR-TRV1000 $1999 3 chip cam will be here in
time for the Christmas shopping season, so that gives
Sony only about 6 weeks of a window of opportunity.
Same goes for the world's smallest 3 CCD camcorder,
DCR-PC3000. Now, you are going to love this call...
the PC3000 may Have the Zeiss lens after all, but the
TRV1000 may NOT. Not logical? Logic has Nothing to
do with it.  ;-)    GV-D1000 is still on for Oct in USA!

Sony joined Panasonic, Toshiba and Hitachi with a
DVD-Recordable unit   that can eventually be put
inside the thinnest 1"  Laptops and eliminate once
& for all the need for floppy disk drives,  CD-Rom
drives & even DVD movie players.   $599 by Sept.

My Hawaiian field battery,  just went from powering
any Laptop or Notebook computer about 15 hours to
practically all day and all night.........  21 plus hours!

Microsoft Millennium will support FireWire as well
as Streaming Video and will arrive September  14th.

16 by 9   giant 40" and 50" and even 60"    Four Inch
Thin wall TV sets that are data (monitor)  quality will
arrive this Christmas starting under $2,000.      Seems
Samsung, LG & Toshiba set to lower the price points.

PC5 touch screen, Memory Stick, stabilized DV cam;
is being billed as  world's smallest mini DV camcorder.
3CCD version of PC series camcorder;  DCR-PC3000
will NOT have    Mega pixel and will be slightly larger
than PC100, and the TRV1000 sister cam will both be
priced under $2,000 price point for release September.

The new series of DV-VCR's beginning with the GV-D1000
will feature Memory stick,    7" and 5" screens and remote
control.  DVCam version DSR-V20 not to have LP but will
include mini DV and standard size DV cassettes.  Just found
out there's to be a ruggedize back packer/mil spec version!

Sharp has said it will come out with a touch screen camcorder
that has a second screen ideal for mothers to watch their kids
or infants in another part of the house. USA deliveries and
prices will be determined sometime after 1 October and this
unit may arrive on store shelves if we are lucky for the holiday
season.  I just wish it had Mega Pixel.

Touch Screen, Flash Memory, 22X Optical
and Wireless Picture & Audio built-in.
More later....

MARCH   MADNESS!

Sony DCR-TRV20 1.1 Mega Chip 1CCD Camcorder
This is year 2000 1CCD Flagship... e-mail me for $1295
First units to ship now the end of JUNE... Sony delay.
Top loading cassette tape, Intelligent Hot Shoe, 64MB of
upgradeable Flash Memory going to 1 GB!  Analog and DV
Inputs and Outputs, Lanc control, manual focus, WB, uses
batteries that last up to 12 hours, Steady-Shot 12X... WE
NOW HEAR MEM STICK 128MB to USA / 256 Japan

Competitors are JVC 9800 and Pana DV800.  JVC price is
higher now but I expect to see DVL9800 with Analog Inputs,
Flash Memory and more auto features to drop below $1000.
Right now it will run about $1399 without Hot Shoe but with
Mega Pixel Technology for a 1152 X 864 image!.

               JVC GR-DVL9800 MEGA Pixel
my dearest Chuckmeister
FYI, I test drove both the JVC 9800 and the TRV20 (I am going to keep theTRV20 unless Sony tells me they will release a similar unit
that does interval recording).
The TRV20 blows the 9800 away: The TRV20 is far more convenient with the stick, makes better still shots
with excellent resolution, has better video, looks a hell of a lot more sleek and is well built.
As for the 9800, progressive scan is not that big of a deal. I could not
discern any difference between grabbing a video image in progressive versus the
interlaced. I did this in a variety of situations (low light, daylight,
portrait, moving targets). Sony's progressive shutter stills, in my opinion, are just
as good as progressive scan stills.  The only advantage
the 9800 had over the TRV20 was in
low light situations. But the TRV20
allows you to simply put a light on the smart attachment and furthermore has the night-shot for really dark situations. Anyway, Mega-thanks for the info.

By the way, my trv20 was $1599 with accessories
Thanks,
   Eric

JVC sister company Pana will also bring to    our NTSC market their take on a Year 2000 traditional shaped Camcorder PV-DV800 below.   Which will feature an incredible 18X Optical lens, a new Steady camera system, rear mounted battery for added growth, accessory shoe, Flash Memory that will top out at 2+GB, also Analog Inputs,  Computer RS232 interface, IR filter, high resolution screens and both Mac & Wintel software.   ONLY....$985!

Pana PV-DV800 DV for $985

New FireWire products have arrived and our One and Only
Streaming Video Editing Laptop

has been updated... although
800MHz has arrived, our 500MHz
is MORE than adequate
and its price is being pushed down by
these over kill processors.
Now, Windows 2000 is finally here
for those of you into Windows NT and not Win
dows Millennium.
Our Laptop got thinner from 1.8" to less than than
  1 point four
inches and has shed
3 pounds to just around    Five pounds as we
have a new battery
that goes 21+ hours. DVD on board still plays
movies only
but it can now do it with MPEG II hardware as well
as
software. Our IBM hard drives are the latest and we are still
sitting with at least 30GB
each; well over an hour of video.   For

those of you in the
motion picture & television industry and have
been
waiting and wanting fine wood trimming... that h
as arrived.
