chuckmeister,     we just wanted to say Thanks for
seeing a bunch of us reservist here in Mosul finally
got a cam that can keep up with the elements and
all the guys here sending images back home via
e-mail... just like you said we Could! Now if you
could just swing one of those OLED 50" our way...

Thank You Gunny SGTS Morrison, Gerber, Ski
and Davidovich. You are not alone, last count
was 32 units in country but because of APO and
FPO I am not sure which are a shore and which
are in Afghanistan as well. But I know your weather
is a big factor. Keep it stored even all the time and
you should have no problems. 3rd ID tells me they
are using cheesecloth with rock salt from the Mess
hall to eliminate any moisture which can be an issue.
Good Work men.  Finish Up & Get the heck Back!
That's a meister Order

cm...  I have an Under Water housing problem that
I sure could use the meister's  help... it involves water
condensation putting the M2 inside it's air tight
    housing and going out side when its hot & humid ;
do I need to use air conditioning?    Kim downunder

Aloha: kim-down-under... YES, you can use the All
Weather housing while going from air conditioned
places and vehicles to warm humid out doors and
Not be bothered with condensation issues and you
can also add a small bag of rock salt or silica gel to
act as a moisture absorber inside the housing as well.

I have a tough question for the meister. I owned an
MX5000 and now have the new
Mamba2. I could
never,  it seemed... keep my protective filter on my
MX5k  when using the All Weather housing as the fit
was so tight.  Is that true with the old
Mamba1 and
this NEWER
Mamba2        All Weather housing?

Good news Brittany even visiting there in England
with your NTSC version of the Mamba
2 there is an
inner Black ring that you can remove and install your
protective ND, Skylight or UV filter and now make a
perfect seal with the Housing chamber sealed !

What oh-meister are some of the uses other than the
obvious Under Water use are there for this UW housing?

To name but a few: it is an Excellent storage and transport
case, it works for hot, humid, sticky, rainy, wet, damp areas.
It is even better for cold, wet, snowy, sleet, icy, frigid, windy
elements as well. On an island near salt water, spray, sand.
On a mountain top be it Everest or your local hill top, on
boats, airplanes, skydiving, bungee jumping, dirt bikes, off
road SUV, camping, white water, skiing snow or surf and
inside a NASCAR racing machine. Bikes, scooters, jet ski
  and or a Ski-Doo.  This M
2  will Go Wherever You Go!

Mamba2 without  Wide Angle
and Flash deployed in Hawaii

Mister-meister man... can you tell me if I can use my new
Mamaba2 All Weather / Under Water housing with the
  MX6000, MX5000 or GS70 too?   mike-meister in Miami

Good question South Florida... NOPE!  The MX6000 not
only has it's own dedicated housing that works. But along
http://www.supervideo.com/2003i.htm
with the MX7000 the MX5000 has it's own housing.
THREE Separate Housings!
For those of you engaged in sports like High School foot
ball and baseball games, you CAN drill a small indentation
underneath near the rear cover so the waist battery cord is
allowed to leave the chamber. You'll loose the Under Water
integrity but many of you have said; "Not an Issue meister!"

Bad News area, 'the 9 hour waist battery' will not fit Any
of the above units inside their respective Housings and some
owners of US versions have reported Issues with Circuitry!
Please Read below...

with ENGLISH supplied Remote

chuckmeister, I could not think of anyone to turn
to in my dilemma as I was told to not go for the
IMPORT version and buy a USA Pana whenever
they get around to letting us have that model.  Well
the MX5000 look-a-like is here and I bought it. I
was also told where to get the housing. Now I just
found out the hard way... they are incompatible?
dean-meister - dead in the water in Detroit

Afraid you ran aground the Yee Ole Panny Strip
the feature trick.  The Electronics within the cam
have been what is euphemistically called the Pana
Dummy Down effect. US versions have the circuitry
disenabled to work with these Rare accessories.
Now...   Who,
can tell What-All other items have been affected or
WILL be affected in any future US would be imposters?

meister I notice on the chat rooms and the forums they
call this turkey a NV-GSl00k-k something or the other
and you say
BLACK MAMBA2... can you explain?

Can we all say IDIOTS? Guess not... This cam we have
here is not available anywhere in the world at the moment
& that is the way Pana plays this game. You are the bait.
This camcorder replaced what? an MX5000 which replaced
what? An MX3500 which was the replacement for the what?
MX3000 which replaced the MX2500 which replaced the...
you guess it MX2000... do we see a pattern developing here?

If you feel like getting jerked around by a chain then you &
the fools that don't have A Life & sit and Pontificate 24/7
and apparently like to hear them selves sound important or
what-ever gets them to sit in a stupid chat room all day...
can follow like sheep right off edge of the earth.

I march to a different drum & care less their mumblings!
Besides back in May when I asked many of my MX3000
and MX5000 owners what would they like to see set up
for a future MX model they voted the kit you see as the
BLACK MAMBA
& that is the black painted version with housing, lens kit,
waist battery and lens adapter be it the Tele or Wide.
They wanted to see American faces and not ship their
hard earned dollars to faceless and unknown slick over
seas wheeler dealers that had a bad reputation or ripping
Americans off of their money and equipment with
all sorts of short packaging, missing parts, used equipment
seconds and out and out thievery...

Besides, one of the first owners back on the 27th June 03
actually suggested the name and I agree it sounds a whole
lot better and more to the liking of many of the owners
than the Alphabet Soup they are pushing down our throats...

Here is a piece of trivia that most stateside haven't a clue...
The real name for this camcorder in Japan... is NOT GS100
If you look carefully and also speak to people over there it's
3CCD Digicam 100
& as far GS100 : another problem... first k is for thousand !
NV-GS100,000-s or   (-k for Black Finish)
and this is used as an inventory stock control number
NOT a name
! achem...
