Why is the MX so sharp in image
resolution Mr. meister?
That apparently has a lot to do with the combination of 3
features working in tandem. The Leica lens groups with
the Pana Prism Block and the 3 Mega Pixel CCD's where
most camcorders are lucky just to have 1 Mega Pixel or 1.5
Mega Pixel count CCD. My 1.55 Mega Pixel Sony TRV50
was blown away by the quality of the MX at the wedding.

Just how good was the OIS?
The image stabilization is of a still newer Pana generation and
does compare favorably with my GL-2 in handling qualities.

Isn't the DVX still a better cam?
There is no doubt the AG-DVX100 is a superior cam... but
hands on both the MX and the 24p... I Also would NOT bring
the MX to the states to sit on a dealer's shelf next
to a far more expensive DVX as the bottom line image
quality difference does not justify the price difference.
Linda Jean
Was the cam's small size an issue?
My XL1s performed flawlessly and it still looks like a
professional piece of machinery to lug around this
sort of exotic wedding. Problem was the bride and
later at the reception the attendees seemed more
impressed with the same scenes on the MX monitor,
sad to say. Hands down I would prefer a match set
of 2 MX's any day to one XL and still have some
left over change... it was that simple! Douglas Lee
Did the Sony users have an opinion?
Sony may not like me saying this but if my TRV950
cost only half, around $1,000 and the MX was triple,
to around $3,000... the MX would still be a steal. The
MX could out performed camcorders costing over
five grand and that says something to it's
competitiveness. 'Chick' Henry
Where was JVC in all this?
The Streamcorder is a great cam to have at this sort
of exotic wedding location and since I spent so much
of my own money for it... I have to say that JVC is going
to have to reduce the price or at least the street price as
even the TRV950 at $2199 looked as good in color
saturation and may have done better in low light indoor
shots. The XL1s was better under lights and the DVX
beat everybody including the MX when it was in 24p.
I also think JVC needs to improve the digital audio or
at least let us know we need a good external mic.

What's was the Bad News?
We did NOT have a source in the states for this MX...
Now...
I have about 11 sources in the US & in Canada for
a complete MX camcorder with 'KIT'
Two of these sources said if you would order the
Owner's Manual they will give you the MX for FREE
more ASAP...
These comments above will be posted in their entirety
once I get back stateside and get caught up with some
much needed sleep and answer a few thousand e-mails!
Thanks... Aloha
