Aloha Verizon and Thank You for responding to my e-mail.
I agree with everything you mention. In fact I believe
your customer service not only exceeded my expectations
but was even BETTER than the industry leader T-Mobile.
And THAT is a credit to your Verizon company. However on
the last point I was trying to make in the last sentence....
"Oh, and tell your CEO Ivan Seidenberg... the iPHONE will
prove to be an earth quake to your industry and you better
get
Plans B & C and others ready!"
Yes I know Apple and Steve Jobs selected in the USA AT&T to
have 100% exclusivity on the up-coming iPHONE launch. And I
was not saying you would be servicing, selling or marketing
it.
When I said there was an earthquake coming... I was referring
to
the very likely possibility that a once in a life time
paradigm
shift was going to occur and that you at Verizon the
biggest
competitor of AT&T, could bear the brunt of this up-heaval in
the
USA cell phone market. I believe T-Mo could even go out of
business
or at the least be reduced to a third tier company and that
even
Sprint, Alcatel, Sun Coast, Western-Wireless and others could
eventually just go out of business or even get lost in
mergers.
You heard it here first BTW.
That is what I meant by the competitors of Apple / AT&T are
going to have to look at Plan B, Plan C and so on... just
based
on the simple fact that if people here in Hawaii as well as
other locations around the country are 'already' lining up for
a sale of a cell phone next Thursday... that should in of
itself
be a wake-up call to the industry that THIS is No ordinary
phone
launch. That this is no ordinary up-grade to a competitor in
the
phone market. It does NOT even matter if the iPHONE is
'inferior'
to every existing phone on the market today... 'It Just
Won't
Matter.' Heads will roll, you can go the bank and put
money on
that. Also if they sell 'millions' of these phones (and they
most
probably will) then 'Someone'... is going to loose
customers.
This will NOT be a cell phone company just selling another
phone to its customer base... this has the ramifications of
being a craze, a wave, a paradigm shift and any rushed out
price
cuts, new cell plans or whiz-bang toys; will in all
probability...
NOT stop the hemorrhaging... it will be THAT serious I'm
afraid.
As I said, this is new ground, never has occurred before in
your
industry and it will more than likely catch many off guard I'm
sure.
I originally predicted failure for the iPHONE, especially for
AT&T & even more so with their customer service department.
Now, I'm not so sure that can even occur now and I still know,
understand and see all the 21 MAJOR flaws, issues & feature
short comings with the iPHONE and I believe they will still
succeed despite all that I have seen and heard. Yes, I held
the iPHONE, your new LG9400 and I also held a superior product
Motorola Z8. All operated very well but, Apple will pull
this cell phone out of a magician's hat it seems and trounce
all competition just because... it is an Apple. I do wish
you
and the rest of the cell phone industry well. Read:
EPITAPH.
I got my first cell phone from the Air Force and Motorola
in 1987 when there was not even 1500 of us in the world with
cell phones. I was one of the first dozen people to get
a $1500 StarTac Motorola phone in the 1990's. I know what I
am talking about and for a very very old person, seen a lot
and been around the block many times before. Good
Luck.
Next week, if anything, it will be... a memorable day to say
the least!
Sincerely with Aloha
the chuckmeister Waikiki Beach HAWAII
